If I use my dynamite to escape the orc fortress, how can I get back to open the two chests that need a special key (don’t have it yet)? Do I throw away my dynamite and then go back with the key once I get it later using the elevator? I have gotten the kid out of the barrel!

I played once in easy mode and now doing normal mode, so I sort of know the story... just more animal kings.
Great game Indy ! I got a new computer so couldn't import from MM2 which was a bummer.

You need to use a magical key (equip on marine's shield slot) to open them. You can buy one in the forbidden zone from mani's shack, so don't blow up the orc fortress.

You could also import a magical key, but since you did not, the only way to do it is to not blow up the fortress and to buy the key.

Thx for reply. Only conundrum for me is part of my first post... do I throw away ( use somehow) the remaining dynamite I have and take the elevator? I don't mind buying a key, just can't go (I think) to forbidden zone until the orcs are taken care of (from memory of playing easy mode).
Never mind... I think I figured it out...I'm back in town and about to see the mayor
