As you know Eternal Abyss has been released, and I have been trying to start on my next game. Problem is I don't know what to do for my next game. I was wondering if any of you had ideas for what my next game could be.

Thanks

Nekos.

This question is a bit strange. Anything you'd like to make, go for it. You are the one who should decide which story you'd like to tell to your players. :)

I'm trying a new approach for the next game and seeing what the audience would prefer for a story.

Like, with Eternal Abyss I was ignoring most ideas people gave (people not on the team).
With <insert name here> I am going to take people's ideas in.

I make games with RPGMaker 2000, and most of my ideas comes with by playing other games. Sometimes is copied, LOL, but what I mean is... none game you've already played inspire you to make your dreamed game? That would also caught the interest of the players?

The trick is to get inspired by other games but not completely copying them. Plus something unique would help you. And asking for ideas shows weakness in creators inspiration and creativity IMO. So play other games. Use original artwork,music,resources... To be honest I didn't even play Eternal Abyss because it looked like just another RPG VX RTP game. Artwork draws somebody to a game and storyline keeps them in it.

And the storyline is hard work. Just as a person can only become a dancer by dancing (no-one can do it for him/her) so a person can only become a story teller by writing stories, seeing what works, learning how to build a dynamic arc and so on.

Then the input you're asking for is basically *What we'd like to see* in an rpg?
Well...here's mine: (Please note the order of importance) +::biggrin
1. ALL REJUVENATING SAVE POINTS! +::lol
2. Ability to save at any time, except during battles of course.
3. Quest logbook (really helps keep us on track as far as what or where we're supposed to head off to.
and...
4. hopefully...just a little less expensive item purchases +::biggrin

Puzzles and quests help to break up the tension for me...except Indy tends to always manage to put in at least one true *humdinger* that gets us alllll scrambling to find the solution to +::biggrin

So when do we get an inkling of what the next game will be????? +::biggrin

Don't worry, the items are extremely limited in one of the games I have planned.

And I guess I can show you my game at a later point.

Based on the projects I have going to far, I think it will be another 3 seasons before I release my next game. This is because my main priority right now is working on my web series known as Vortex.
