I installed the new version and it seems that the game now cannot by escaped by pressing F12 - it skips back to Windows, but then immediately starts again.

And here are the differences between the old and new version (the new is the bottom one), for example the dialogue windows are obviously different.

Yep, a new version of MM1 with that new windowskin has come out months ago. I'm surprised almost no one noticed.

BTW, all the MMs are updated with new versions now because I downloaded MM2 yesterday and I saw the old Aldorlea logo when I opened.

EDIT: The load and import screen are all like this (in MM3 new version, haven't downloaded MM4 new version yet) is this supposed to be like this?

I just downloaded both updates and got the same issues as well. It's not just the load and import screen, it's the entire menu and the textbox. Basically, the entire menu and textbox is for some reason set to be transparent, not just the screen. Although it doesn't actually affect gameplay, it does make it hard to read what the characters are saying. I'm hoping Indy would notice and try to fix it soon.

Yep, and that happens when I load a game, I guess that an older save file doesn't get used to the new update.

Looks like you were right. It really is a save compatibility problem. The menu template works fine when you start a new game, but I guess the new menu doesn't get included in the old saves. Oh well.

I see. Well, I've been levelling my heroes in MM4 for some time, so I only noticed it now.
Btw, I have the "Dark save/load menu", too.

The new windowskin is on purpose.
The black SAVE/LOAD screen was too but I'm going to change it since I'm not happy with it.
What came as a suprise is transparent windowskins in the game itself. Does it occur if you start the game from scratch or is it from loading an old savefile (the latter would make more sense).

Okay, I just redownloaded the updates and the menu backdrop is back for the old saves. Overall, I really like new updates.

The only reason why I don't want to replay MM4 is because it's a HUGE pain to level up those fists to the max... ESPECIALLY James.

Thanks for the new updates! Hope the polishing on MM5 goes well!

One thing I noticed, that Marine's sprite are still with long hair even after she cuts her hair. But I don't know if that is because I just loaded after the dragon events. lol
