Martial Art Technic: Kicking Your Enemy Out of the Ring

Since MM5 is getting nearer (I suppose that's a fact +::biggrin ), I thought it would be nice to let you know that winning a fight at the showdown is not all about strength. A commonly used method is indeed to either kick your opponent out of the ring or even trick them into that (for instance by evading a strong hit or luring them near the border of the ring).
What does this mean? Characters with a weaker body may want to try this method instead of engaging a usual fight.
The girls of Mystrock, especially Lady May, are very good at this. But can the girls of Mystland do the same? And who in Mystland do you see able to use this skill to perfection? +::wizard +::music

Jezebel has to be good at luring, so she's my first choice.

Wouldn't it be a nice twist if Jezabel ends up racking some pts for Marine? +::biggrin +::biggrin +::biggrin

If that's the case, maybe weak character like Salome can win. But what if she doesn't have even fighting skills to lure enemies out of the ring? +:::|

You can always lure by pretending to be hurt, weak, afraid, whatever. +::music

I don't know why but I picture James being easily kicked out of the ring, because he didn't slept well the night before the tournament... as he is always sleepy. +::lol

Against Lady May, that will be a clear danger for him. +::O_o +::surrender

Oh, don't know - the presence of someone as good looking as Lady May might well wake him up thoroughly!

Oh, great. Because James doesn't have NEARLY enough distractions, he should face the Mystrock Hottie??? +:::|

Salome would definitely do well with that strategy; she's fast AND she thinks things through. Marine obviously could as well, but I'm hoping for more of a show of strength from her. Karine does NOT need to do that; girlfriend hunts gators, for crying out loud...

In terms of the boys, Wolfgang never really seemed to embrace the notion of fisticuffs (meaning, getting his hit count up was a beeyotch!), so I'd be willing to give that a shot with him. I would imagine that moving quickly and avoiding a pummeling would appeal to Hirado's poetic nature. Jack might be a good candidate; James wouldn't (anyone else blow perfectly good points trying to improve his speed?), but when he lands a punch, he LANDS it. FInally, given that, determined as he may be, the chances of Old Suzuki landing a crushing blow are pretty slim, I'm signing HIM up for that first.

As for Jezebel... I'm not EVEN making plans. At this point, I view her as a warm body occupying the 13th spot, and little more.

Wow. I was curious as to how this system mechanic was going to work, but it sounds like a mini-game of sorts to me now. Any chance we can get some spoiler-free shots of how the battle works?

On another note, I'm thinking Jezabel vs. Meryll. Why? Beautiful tamer vs. beastly brute. They're in the ring, Meryll thinks she's an easy target, begins to rush at her, and then, BAM! Jezabel puts on the speed and quickly gets out of the way, with Meryll beelining for the edge. He stops, she kicks, he's out. I kinda picture this scenario since Meryll strikes me as the big, strong, but stupid bully type.

Hey, are the personalities and fighting styles of the Mystrock Lords going to reflect how we (the players) should plan for them?

Merryll eats them gators for breakfast. +::whistle

Suzuki is definitely going for the evade strategy, ahaha!

Hmmm you think you'll lose all 13 duels? +::O_o
