Hi, I bought the game and the guide but I can't locate the game controls. How do I open the menu, the inventory, get out of the buy window, etc? I can't find these things in the guide. I got into the "buy" window and for some reason clicking on "exit" didn't work. Is this operator error or am I missing something?

To open the menu press 'Esc'. That also gets you out of the buy window. In fact, that is how you exit from the Equip, Skill, Quests, etc. windows.

In the menu you can select 'Options' and switch from mouse to arrow control if that is what you prefer.

You can use ENTER or SPACE BAR to validate or check something.
You can use ESC to enter the main menu (from which you can use ENTER to select sub-menus) and to cancel a choice.

I tried using "esc" but it didn't do anything. I did a forum search for "game controls" and found that the right mouse button would work, so now I'm good.

Ah, but right-click is actually equivalent to ESC Oo

Yep. When I used the "esc" key in the game, nothing happened. "Ctrl" + "esc" closed the game window, and I was able to exit the game, but I couldn't figure out how to access the menu til I read that the right mouse key would work.

May I suggest there is something odd about your ESC key? I've never heard of this problem before.
If you want to be 100% certain, try a past game and see if the problem persists, maybe.

Yes, I have played several Aldorlea games, so I expected "esc" to work and was surprised when it didn't and thought you might have changed the controls. I just tried with Millenium: A New Hope and it didn't work there, either. So, maybe I need to look at a new keyboard. Well, I can get the game to work, anyway.

Glad you can still play it, and also that we identified the source of the problem.
