Well well it was not a chicken but a Rooster called Double Zero.
Still it is loosing levels.
This time I have narrowed it down to the moment where Viktor joined the party. Double Zero loose 10 levels. In my case from level 24 to level 14.

I play on a PC with windows 10.

What do you say Indy?
I have the 2 savegames if your interested.
