To add to this, you must have the contact lenses. Without them, the wife will not appear on the roof, not matter what you do.

I actually didn't sleep at the inn.

Deckersville Lighthouse - Locked Room in SR? +::surrender
Did anyone manage to find a way into the locked area in the SR in Deckersville? I think it was in the lighthouse? I completely forgot about it until just now and wondered if it was doable or only a tantalising tease? +::whistle

Nice to know about the contacts. If you didn't sleep, I wonder what triggers the wife? I went back without sleeping and never saw her that time. +::Dunno

If you have Penelope in your Ice Shrine party, she can read the tablet at the first 3-way intersection. As a result, everyone in the party gets a permanent increase about 75-100HP and a slight increase in all stats (like approx. 8-10 points higher).

I don't know if she can read other tablets, but I would save before reading anything in the rest of the shrine. After all, he who giveth can always taketh away.

EDIT: I have been all through the Ice Shrine, but only that early tablet gave permanent stat bonuses and nothing ever had a negative effect. +::Thumbup

Secret Room #55 in the ice shrine, the one at the lower edge of the room where you just 'walk over it' to find the secret room. If you approach from the left side, everybody in the party gets 2500 exp. If you approach from the right side, the party gains 10,000G. At this point in the game, the exp, especially for Nyx, may be more valuable than the gold.

There are 2 Secret Rooms that have a turtle in them. I can't remember where the first is (maybe the Ruins of Marmaris?) and the second one is in the volcano on the way to the Evil Shrine.

If you speak to them before opening the chests, you get a reward.
Judging by the dialogue, the second one might be dependent on you getting the first one, or at least, the quality of the reward. But I couldn't test that, as I had got the first one.

@MerryX
Did you find the weapon seller in the Volcano on the way to the Evil Shrine?

From what I just found, the 1st Turtle is in
Spoiler: show
SR#22 in Karak Volcano. Map on page 53 of the Guide. If you talk to the turtle before searching the chests, you are given an item AND Genevieve learns the "Turtle" skill which causes AGI to reduce to about 50% and both DEF/MDF increase to around 150%.
I tried many times to see if someone else would learn it, but it was always Genevieve. Maybe if I spent a few hours.... +::Dunno

I found the 2nd turtle (assuming there are only 2) in a previous playthrough and I only got
Spoiler: show
a Turtle Shield. But I had not talked to the 1st turtle I mentioned above. The 2nd turtle was in the Karak Volcano in a SR just before entering the Evil Shrine. Map on page 136 of the guide.

I will report back what I get after finding both turtles during this playthrough. But that will be a while.

Okay, for the very first time in this entire game so far I just had a WOOHOO moment!
I'm flying to all possible places on the world map to see what encounters are there (to fill up my quest book) and what they drop.
There's that little island - a square with a missing corner at the top right, and a little beach/sea icon at the top left. There are monsters called Lilyputh and they have a 7% chance of dropping a TWIN RING! Now that's worth hunting for!
