Yup, trying to come up with innovative skills for deeper strategies.

I am going to blind the shit out of Busho lol ....
I see that skills have levels in this game .... do they level up by continously using them just like in " A timely intervention "- or they level up with your normal level ? Or some other system ?

They level up if you use them. Levels increase the damage (or recovery) and decrease the cost.

Niiiiice ... this makes for a lot of strategies - but it's going to be hard to chose which skill to level up once I have a bunch of them on a character

You can either level up all of them, but slowlier then, or focus on one, but limit your possibilities.

Sounds interesting. This will make exploration and killing monsters even more rewarding, I guess...

It definitely does. If you take your time, it pays off.
