how do I get this side quest - I need it to do the red monkey

In the Ruins, near the main entrance, is an obvious doorway into the walls. There is an enemy standing in front of a pillar. Check the pillar.

if that is the Pillar of Malefience I have killed the orc in front of it and it asks for 2 round objects nothing else and no quest comes up

100% sure you don't have the scroll for sq 15?
Because from what I can remember (can't check right now) checking the pillar prompts her to say smth about it, unlocking sq 15.

maybe you don't have one orb - maybe having at least one orb requires to trigger the quest - in adition to Genevieve

I meant the sidequests scroll but I think darkange above is right, you also need the 1st blue orb to prompt the dialogue.

the first blue orb is also found in one of the statues in the dungeon - if you check all statues - you will find it eventually

Unless I'm mistaken, the orb is actually visible (if a bit tiny).
