Lottery ticket

I have started all over again.
Does the guy in the inn (whose list I signed) have anything to do with the winning ticket? He gives me a number.
But it's not the number of the ticket I bought.
I assume winning has something to do with the fortune boost. When do I take that exactly? Before buying the ticket? Before signing the list?

There are several things you can do prior to purchasing the ticket in order to increase your chances of getting the winning one.
And also ways to get an idea if yours has good chances to be the winning one.
I can recommend to be observant to the surroundings of the lottery house (and the house itself of course).

I failed this quest. But I also petted the 2 black cats. I would think giving the small sums of money to people increases your chances of success. Talking to everyone in the building and streets also probably helps. Since the luck buff wears off, I am going to use it when I return (next playthrough) to collect my fortune. This is a one-shot deal and I'm going to log every action I take and if I win, I will share (not the winnings, the solution). After all, there is someone in that town who needs the money more than I do.

And it's not that half-dressed girl running around.

But why do you keep saying it's a quest - it doesn't appear in my quest log at all - no quest says : "win the loterry " or you get it later ?
I bought the ticket and that was it - no quest about it

You are correct that the lottery is not a quest per se, but if you don't WIN the lottery
you cannot finish Q24 which is directly tied to a winning lottery ticket

whaaaaaat ? The old man quest is related to this ? So if I checked if I won and I didn't .... that means there is absolutely no way to win the lotery unless you restart from the beginning ? And that also means you automatically fail Q24 ?

That's what I understand. Does the old man tell you he is going to die soon? And did you get Q24? Other than better health insurance, he needs
the lottery winnings to pay for his insurance. Of course, he could always move to Canada.

I have failed so many quests, that I just gave up on most of them. And I am a perfectionist, too. Keep good notes for future games, we're gonna need to share them all.

But don't tell Indi.

I got his Q24 from him and yes he says he is going to die soon ... the party says their must be something we can do for him and that's it ... damn I thought I was going to have a perfect run ....
I completed all quests so far and didn't missed one - the bucanneer one is clear how to do it ... and the rest of them that are uncompleted for now.
The only one that I have no clue is that Blonde IQ quest. You have any tips for that ?

I remember reading somewhere that the Blonde IQ quest needs to be solved after you have 2 parties. I made a note so I wouldn't forget. But I have no idea how you find her unless you can re-enter the warehouse system. Since the party with the flying saucer will not stay on the island with the volcano, I assume the party entering the volcano is the party that needs to solve the quest.

There is an indication in the guide that Pristine (if you completed that quest) shows up in the town on Hermit's island, so maybe Blondie does as well?

If anybody find out or already found out all the steps you need to do to win the lottery ticket ... send me a PM ... I have a theory that when you go back to claim your winning ticket there should be no black cats in the room since at first there was only one and when you get back you find 2 cats - clear sign you were unlucky.

Very much like my future approach (in 6 months

a lottery joke). I was thinking NO black cat in the room when you buy your ticket would be an indicator that you have suceeded in correctly setting up this puzzle for winning. Otherwise, you would have to wait forever to find out if you wasted hours of playtime before returning to claim your winnings. Indi is tricky .... not cruel.

ok yeah .... your strategy makes more sense - no black cats in the room indicates it is the correct time to buy your ticket - this would probably be the case...

...and also, maybe we should take note of what the winning lottery ticket number is and whether or not the ticket we buy changes its number based upon luck factors. If we can get a different numbered ticket, we'd know right away rather than waiting for so long to check that ticket after the volcano. Just a thought...

I remember buying the ticket 1 time ... then reload and buy again ... then one more time ... and the number was different for sure ... but I don't remember what factors I changed between buying different tickets ... one time I probably signed that guy list ... other time I didn't .... and so on .
This has to be the most complex quest cause nobody won the lottery so far - it's just like that guy in the lottery house said : " it is rigged , nobody ever win ... I knew it "
