Some Laxius Souls news

(news for Night of the Stars should be available shortly)

I've made a couple of important decisions.

One of them is to use side-view battles, like in Forever Heroes.
I think it worked pretty well with FH, so you should all feel at home.
The deciding factor was I had far more monsters available for side-view battles, and LS is turning out to be a very big game.

Speaking of that - right now we're looking at something of the size of Forever Heroes.
It'll be divided in 4 chapters with 5 dungeons each. Pretty big game but Night of the Stars being close to completion, I will hopefully soon be able to dedicate myself entirely to LS.

Also I've decided to use MZ not MV, for anyone who cares. MV is the software I used for Forever Heroes. MZ is a new one I haven't used yet (well technically that's untrue as I've used it for Night of the Stars - but exactly, I'm getting pretty decent at using it, so there you go.)

That definitely is a factor. I had to use front view for BoS for the same reason, I had more monsters available for it than side view. Best of luck with it!

Very exciting news and like Tomas, I enjoyed knowing that the game is gonna be big. I know it's hard to make big games but I prefer them that way. +::biggrin

No problem with side view, but I'll miss the old style in battles. Thinking about it, it's gonna be the first time the series has side view, even since Laxius Power.

Ohh, that's exciting.
I much prefer MZ over MV. You now can have 2000 maps instead of just 999.
Hope progress will be smooth and that your magic will flow +::wizard

Check out Forever Heroes for a first idea. I think I'll go with something similar, agility-based (Charge Battle System).

The higher res textures and the side battles are great improvement over the older version of the Makers.
For the MZ engine - you are probably the best coder/creator/user on this engines, so you will better in no time.
