The Candle Relic

I got the candle relic and I was wondering about its uses. I managed to finish the sidequest involving it but after using it all up, Piper said that we had to wait for it grow back. I lose the candle after using it up so how do I know if the candle is coming back? I've been playing this game a while now and it won't grow back no matter how much I fight or how long I wait? Is this some sort of bug or is there another trick to it for the candle to grow back?

It's never coming back. I mean, technically it would, but definitely not within the timeframe the game is set in.

So it's a limited use relic. I'll just save it for the sidequest next time, then.
