new game issues

has anyone had the following issue with Odessa:
I started a new game (after buying it, wanted to skip the demo
) and everything was working fine, right until I want to leave the first village with the waitress to visit the swamps (?) when suddenly the game crashes. The next times I restart and load a save game, I only get sound. Am currently in the process of redownloading.
Edit: after redownload it seems to work (so far)
