Path of the dreaded cave

I completed the Mt Pazara quest, returned to Metrolia ruins, killed bunch of wraiths, met Vulcath. Walkthrough talks about going back down the path of the dreaded to find a man in the first cave who'll give me $$ and omega budons. i don't find anyone in either cave. What have I missed?
