tigoes in khomre

the jackal - blue haired guy, keeps asking me if I've killed all the tigoes in both caves when I try to turn in the quest. I have, but it won't let me turn it in (yes, I've checked all the openings in the walls, and all the holes, more than once) I'm stumped..... bug, or was the "optional" buying of the heavy sword not really optional, and I need to go back before the quest????

nevermind - I bought the sword, and went back, more monsters appeared..... I did need the sword!

how to get back to the path of the dreaded after get reward from kuru ?
is it need to get back to nomad village and walk to the path of the dreaded.
