Where can I find Thieves?

I know that to find the Thieves Den we need the map, and the thieves let drop the map, but where to find theves to fight? In the rocky path the only thieves i fought was by ambushes

You just have to keep walking back and forth in the area past the monastary and hope for a random encounter with them.

oh, foregt it, I entered in the secret room 13 and when I got out, i was in the area with sheeps, thieves lurk in that area
