has the cure for the illness, but he'll only give it to you for an illness you can't cure.

To get him to give the cure you need to get the

desease called Pox

.

To get this desease you need to kill

Spoiler: show

Gigantine, who will infect Marine with Pox.

There's no need to do this quest until the very end of the game, that way you can stock up on items and level enough to survive the fight.

Besides Gigantine and Gigantina, you can get poxed by Gigantinormous
Giganteeny, Gigantinevil, and a few other million varied and assorted
spiders. (Indy loves spiders for some strange reason)!!
