Sick dog in Tyrine

Sick dog in Tyrine

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time through this game (and boy, am I loving it!) so I have a lot to learn. +::YAY I'm in Tyrine and there is a dog blocking the doorway of a house for sale. When I check him I find he is sick and might die and that there may be a herb to save him.

Would anyone tell me where I might find it? I'm a softie and would like to save the pup. +::biggrin

OOOkkkk ... I also have a question regarding the "sick" dog in Tyrine.

This is my second time through the game and I remember accomplishing the sick dog quest during my first time thru the game (but that was over a year ago); however, this time around, I follow what the Walkthrough says, and go to Shandara Woods .... but then, I cannot find the "RED PLANT" that is supposed to be located " ... over the bridge and behind the log is a RED PLANT" ... also, Brussian is supposed to tell me about this red plant and its healing value for the sick dog ... however, I have been to Shandara Woods more than twice and Brussian never says a word ... nor do I come across an obviously red plant, although I certainly have crossed over many bridges.

Can someone assist me ... in a way that is more specific way? Thanx.

Hi Go!

Given that so many things have to be triggered, have you this time around examined the dog first?

Meanwhile, you've helped me (thank you!) but where is Shandara Woods and how do I get to it??? My guess is that comes after Louis's quest, which I have not done yet.

I do love these games. When you finish (after HOURS - *Bliss!*) you can get straight back in again and it's all fresh! +::heart

(to Mittens) you need to print a copy of the Walkthrough that this website offers for free. This will solve many of your questions about Laxius Force I.

By the way, I found that yes, I had examined the sick dog on more than one occasion; however, Sara was not with the group because she was helping the wizard of Tyrine to stop the meteorite from destroying the city by combining her mind power with that of the wizards. (The wizard requires that Sara must leave the group and then the group must walk 5,000 to 10,000 paces before she is allowed to re-join the group). Anyways, that was my problem ... I was examining the dog WITHOUT Sara in the group. I now find that WITH Sara in the group and examining the dog results in someone suggesting that there is a plant in Shandara Woods that might cure the animal ... and I guess this is what triggers the event (because I examined that same red plant numerous times and it just stood there, silent).

Shandara Woods can be located by exiting Tyrine at the North exit and turning to the right (east) and continuing on a relatively wavey easterly direction for a few screens until you enter a very dark screen, and "Shandara Woods" should be now shown in the lower left hand corner of your screen. It is dark and scarey and many many lizards, 3-headed wolves, anacondas, etc., will begin attacking you ... as there are other things to accomplish in Shandara Woods than just the "miracle" red plant. And, this is why you need to print out a copy of the Walkthrough ... or at least READ the one that is posted on this website.

Therefore, I have resolved the "sick dog" quest ... b'bye for now.

Thank you Go-Rikki, printing off the walkthrough sounds very good advice. Although this is my first time through the game, I went through Chapter One twice. I had entered Chapter Two too readily, then found out (by reading this forum) just how much I had missed out on (Cocka for a start!). When I redid Chap One, I got about four times the duration out of it so it's definitely worth knowing I've got to hang around! Here in Chapter Two I am being much more thorough, but there is simply so much to these games it's easy to miss stuff. Mind, that's what makes playing it again so fresh. +::biggrin

Thanks for your help! +::Thumbup

And Shandara Woods is only accessible after Louis' quest. And you don't need to worry about not going there since it's mandatory.

You can go to Shandara woods as soon as you finish the sewers, of course it's not mandatory in that time.

Thanks, everyone. I've done the sewers and have Louis with me. I might tackle those woods now and clock up some development before tackling what Louis has to do and it will give me somewhere new to explore. Thanks for your guidance! +::heart
