guess I'm missing a weapon then. Got Silver Sword, Saint Rod, Doom Spear, Hatred Sword and none of them brings a different respond.

Not exactly a weapon you're missing but rather the one you've been using...

I believe you may be missing the sword according to the list you wrote. I never had a problem with this and I think you can go back later, but I could be wrong. I hope I'm right about this info.

There is a Gold Sword to be found and I used it a lot early in the game. And you will be able to buy 1 later from one of the first 2 shrines shops. The guy will be gone later, so don't miss the opportunity. I am in the Metal Shrine (#3), but I don't remember which of the first 2 shrines had lots of goodies to buy. Shields and Helms and Weapons ... Oh My!
